Barry Jay got in contact with us through Facebook early in the year. He was booked to play the Paul McDevitt Monday Night Session show on Highland Radio and he wanted to document his interview for his social media campaign. This talented musician is a real inspiration in how to use social media to reach and communicate with his fan base. He posts regularly and consistently on Facebook and Twitter keeping his fans updated on his tour dates and what he is getting up to generally in his career. He uses video, photos and blogs to keep his fans engaged and in the loop. He is one of the hardest working committed musicians we have met recently – he travels the country by bus. Early this year he travelled on Bus Eireann from his home town of Carrickmacross to Letterkenny to perform at a 24 hour charity gig at 4am and got the first bus back down in the morning. The Rock n Roll lifestyle is not as glamorous as we would like to think. Barry Jay definitely understands how much hard work it takes to get yourself out there plus he is a real gentleman.
